An educational postpartum hemorrhage simulator, staged roadmap, and uterotonic reference for medical students and residents on the obstetrics and gynecology clerkship. Part of MedEd Forge.

How to use

  1. Practice: choose a case version (or leave it on Random) and start the case. The patient's history changes between attempts, so open the Case chart tab on the right edge before choosing a drug.
  2. Act as a team: you start with two hands, you and the nurse. Call for help to bring in more. Pick actions, then advance the clock 2, 5, or 10 minutes. The clock pauses when results arrive, help arrives, or the nurse raises an alarm.
  3. Decision points: at key moments the case pauses for a single-best-answer question. Your choice takes effect in the case, and the explanation appears immediately.
  4. Debrief: review your practice score by domain, any critical errors, missed or delayed steps, and the full timeline. Print or save it as a PDF, copy it as text, or email a summary.
  5. Roadmap: pick a stage to see how you get there and the four tracks that run at the same time: mobilize, resuscitate, find the cause, and treat the cause.
  6. Drugs: uterotonic and tranexamic acid cards, with contraindications first.

Install as an app

Load this page once while online; afterwards it works offline and opens full-screen.

  1. Chrome or Edge (Windows, Mac, Chromebook): click the install icon at the right end of the address bar, or open the browser menu and choose Install app.
  2. Android (Chrome): open the menu (⋮) and choose Install app or Add to Home screen.
  3. iPhone / iPad (Safari only): tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
  4. Firefox: desktop Firefox does not install web apps; the app still runs normally in a tab.

Updates

The app updates itself. When a new version is ready, a bar appears at the top; tap Reload.

Privacy

All patients are fictional, and the app never asks for patient information. Nothing you enter leaves this device. Your practice history is stored only in this browser; you can clear it from any debrief. Names typed for a printout or email are never saved.
